Secret, Sacred Wanwood

This is it – this is real, this is the box that started it all. Wanwood was just beginning to make its reappearance in ROBLOX, back when the particular type of wood was thought to be extinct. Scientists rediscovered this type of wood back in 2007 and they found out it was not only easy to grow, but it was also growing at an alarming rate (and a single Wanwood tree would merely take no more than three days to grow into a full, beautiful tree).

When one of the trees died, a researcher at ROBLOX Headquarters discovered that Wanwood was extremely easy to shape into stuff – accessories, clothing, and even car parts. (But why?) They thought they could make interesting milestones with this newly found discovery; first there were conversations about making a crown, then a sombrero, then a mask out of this material, but then Telamon came up with the best idea. He thought he might be able to turn it into a brand new item during Giftsplosion, and so they went to create this box. Who knows what lies inside?

Telamon was surprised that the requirement of this box stumbled people’s minds, sending players into slumps of confusion. Originally, he gave it to players that said the word “tree” on an item comment, forum post, or personal blurb. When we got this gift imported over to GOODBLOX, we thought we’d spice things up a little. I originally hinted on the blog post, “Pink, Can We Truly Hate You?“, that you might have to focus on one specific category. When I saw people submitting entries into multiple categories, I discussed the requirement with my good friend (who doesn’t play), and she thought it might be better to think about all the categories instead of one. Of course, only twenty-nine boxes were obtained for free, and congratulations to those who either read my previous blog post on the Speckled Pink Gift of Pinksplosion or figured it out on their own. You can get it for 300 GOODBUX now – limited time only.

We can’t wait to see more users win some gift boxes in the near future. If you made it to the end, I should mention the Global Voting Challenge has received 182 submissions and that means you only need 18 (count, EIGHTEEN) more submissions to reach 200 submissions. If you reach 200 submissions before 11:59pm PST, you will win a bonus event at Super Minigames!

Thank you.

The Global Voting Challenge!

GOODBLOXians,

We need your help deciding what items should come out for the GOODFEST Catalog Sale. This survey should not take more than a couple of minutes to complete, and it can also be found as an announcement banner on the main web site.

However, it seems I need to encourage people to vote for items to come out during this special sale. Because we want you to vote, and because you want encouragement to vote, we have decided to turn this into a Global Voting Challenge.

Click here to go to the polls.

EDIT: The poll must be completed all the way, and it can’t have spammed/off-topic entries. Read the question and answer it correctly or you vote won’t be counted.

THE REWARDS, SHOULD YOU MEET THEM ALL THE WAY:

If this survey gets 50 votes, we’ll host a giveaway on Discord and Twitter! – Unlocked! Giveaways happen on September 17, 2020.
If this survey gets 100 votes, we’ll host a bonus Reign of TIX and GOODBUX before the sale starts! – Almost there!
If this survey gets 200 votes, we’ll host a special game day at Jiquor’s Super Minigames place, combined with a brand new prize opportunity!
Finally, if this survey gets 500 votes, we’ll unlock some special bonuses around the site: Double tickets for place visiting, increased walkspeed in games, and one additional place slot for those who voted!

Get voting and tell your friends.

A Year to Remember

Various members of the community with KJF

GOODBLOXians,

It’s almost been a year since we’ve started the third reiteration of GOODBLOX, which has proven to be such a success, despite many bumps we’ve been through along the way. We have a fantastic community that’s growing beyond what we expected, we have many talented community members creating awesome content, we have items unlike you’ve ever seen in the classic days of ROBLOX, and we have an incredible staff team.

Jiquor before his termination – by “doc”

Our server was created on the 23rd of September by JackGamesFTW with assistance from other staff members. After about three or four days, I was invited to help out with the project (mostly because I’ve been in the other two inderations of this project beforehand). It’s no surprise that I took on a creative role early because of my (almost ten year experience) with ROBLOX (May 2007 – January 2017). With that, I’ve risen from a simple Administrator, to a Creative Director, and now, I’m the Co-Owner. I am proud to serve fellow GOODBLOXians, but I am more than proud to swing the banhammer too. But don’t let that discourage you from chatting with me. I’m usually friendly!

We think our mission to become A Different Revival Project has been a success. Members of the community are friendlier with one another and folks are having endless fun on the forums, various Places, and even in the comments section. This is one of the first revival projects as well to have a classic web site layout of ROBLOX, which shows how nostalgic we really are. This community is also designed to be friendlier than all the ones that have existed throughout the Old ROBLOX Community in general. We think things are looking great! But with a lot of work and updates over the horizon, we can transform this project as a whole…

HOWEVER…

I’d like to celebrate the third reiteration of GOODBLOX more than we ever have before. This is our true one year anniversary – a year in which we’ve truly stayed alive. We knew we would get there, even when the existence of GOODBLOX was uncertain at a few occasions. And we couldn’t have done it without you – the community of GOODBLOX. We couldn’t have done it without KJF, and our contributors. And even if Pranked_Bro is no longer here, we have to at thank him for at least starting the project and attempting to bring people together. Long live GOODBLOX!

THE DETAILS OF GOODFEST 2020:

Community Day – September 2020

We have a wide range of surprises for the entire community. Stuff being brought back, a special sale, a new event, and best of all, a brand new concept called Community Day. We were going to host our first Community Day on the weekend, but once we remembered our anniversary date, we had to host it on the day of our anniversary. But after that, each Community Day will be hosted on the weekends. If you complain though, I’ll ignore you or ban you. Do I need to repeat myself? You get the memo. We appreciate positivity and appreciation with a side of constructive feedback, and that shows well throughout the community.
ONTO THE EVENT LIST NOW…

SEPTEMBER 20: The GOODFEST Catalog Sale starts!
SEPTEMBER 21: Eggstravaganza re-opens!
SEPTEMBER 22: One day of Reign of Tickets and GOODBUX!
SEPTEMBER 23: Community Day, featuring The Golden GOODBLOXian!
SEPTEMBER 24: Lucky Item Festival re-opens!
SEPTEMBER 25: Our new event releases! Wait for details.
SEPTEMBER 26: GAME DAY: Battle Day opens! Wait for details.

On September 27, 2020, everything shuts down right when I wake up. Reign, Community Day, and Game Day abide by a schedule. The poll for the sale goes up soon, and it will start sometime on September 20, 2020.

We can’t wait for our brand new users to partake in the events that they missed back then! One thing I’d like to remind our users of: when it comes to a fear of missing out, you (mostly) don’t have to fear! We try our best to make items obtainable and events playable throughout the months to give new users a chance to earn some fabulous prizes. It doesn’t happen for every item and event, but when it does, you better take the chance!

Let’s keep bringing the community together.
One step at a time.

Pink: Can We Truly Hate You?

Before GOODBLOX ran into some personal problems of its own, there was a new box that had released prior to when all the problems began. Users discovered the Speckled Pink Gift of Pinksplosion (and that’s a mouthful). Instantly, they found the description contained something about “hating pink”. I was amused that users were truly confused about this box because they kept saying they hated pink everywhere around the site – on blurbs, item descriptions, and forum posts. The list of comments has also got to be one of the longest lists I’ve ever seen on-site (which seems to be a good sign). However, this was not the case at all. If you hate pink, you do you. But I am here to reveal the truth, and nothing but the truth. If you don’t like it, then kindly delete this post from your browser history and ignore it. We don’t take kindly to complaints or insults.

In 2007, users initially got this because they owned an item with the color pink on it. We thought that was silly and clever, but we decided to brain-tease the community. Yes, the description said something about hating pink things, but how else would you hate pink things besides writing down the fact you hated pink, even if you didn’t truly mean it?

Well, some users were smart enough to avoid wearing and using pink body colors, clothing, hats, and other items altogether. Yes, even items that had a *teensy-tiny bit of pink* on them counted. We also decided to count the colors alder, lavender, and salmon because they’re lighter shades of magenta to us. Don’t agree? Your problem. You have to buy it for 100 G$ instead or leave it alone. We looked through every outfit carefully as best we could. If you were caught wearing pink colors, that’s it. This box is not for free.

But we can’t truly hate pink; I mean, this color does show toughness and this color is used to raise awareness on important topics around the world. Pink is tough, pink is cool. But if you genuinely hate the color pink, that’s too bad. We gave you this box just to spite you.

But don’t worry – there are more boxes on the horizon. A new Wanwood box just released last night, and it will be available to earn for a few days. If you made it to the end of the post, why don’t I drop a hint for you? You might as well look into uploading something in a specific category. But we’re not telling you what that requirement is specifically. Figure it out on your own, you clever GOODBLOXian, you.

We’re always watching.

A Gift Only For the Elite

In 2007, ROBLOX staff members put out two hints for the first two gift boxes: the Nice Gift and the Black Iron Gift of Pwnage. Unfortunately, after that, no more information was spread on the remaining boxes until every box had been released to the public for free.

But this time, it’s different. I am here to talk about all the boxes in detail as best I can. I’m also going to upload some cool still shots I got of the boxes while I was bored. But if you complain about not getting them, I will ignore you or ban you if you become annoying about it toward me. End of story.

Now, onto the tale…

A scary green box rose from the depths of a forbidden forest. No no, not the one like you’d find on the northwestern side of Hogwarts, but one with many tales of 1x1x1x1 and other exploiters from times past. Some say the depths of the darkest part of that forest contain a wormhole that connects to the forsaken location known as Banland, where all terminated users go to rot when they have been terminated by our merciless crack squad of moderators. This box has been said to be absolutely legendary for an abomination of reasons, and there are mysteries surrounding the founder whom crafted this cursed box to wreak horrible vengeance on ROBLOX back in December 2007.

Some say Telamon, 1x1x1x1 (and/or his counterparts), or Gamer3D created this box at an attempt to ruin Giftsplosion. When people found out the real creator of the box (JohnCarmack), we knew his evil plan, thus he wasn’t banned, but completely forbidden to access ROBLOX as a whole. As we all couldn’t have expected more, the box made its way to GOODBLOX. Users instantaneously believed JohnCarmack was the culprit, but they were surprised to find that when they messaged him, a letter might or might’ve not been sent back to their inbox, but he fooled Giftsplosion hunters into thinking this was a trap! Some users were clever enough to search his entire GOODBLOX account though, because they found this mysterious Decal
With this Decal advertising an accursed front-view version of a regular Domino Crown with a mysterious ID on the bottom right corner, users had to think harder on who the culprit was this time. Let’s look closely and think for a second; hmm, a Domino Crown…an accursed box…the number 15845…Banland…Wait a minute, now I know how some people found out who it was! It was none other than…

FLESKHJERTA.

Fleskhjerta was one of the initial popular users to ever hit the ROBLOX scene with his cool places and intricate bloopers that left a cool mark on YouTube (when it was still genuinely cool). Banned once and threatening to quit, then being terminated in Late 2008, he vowed happiness to be off the platform and had announced his (awaiting) retirement right then and there. Of course, he did come back thirteen years later to relive memories with his fans (and he was not pleased at all), but I think he had another trick up his sleeve. He sent this box straight from the depths of his cell in Banland over to us. Users found that when they received the mysterious Elite Gift of Hax0r in their inventory in due time, they had contacted the right person. They messaged Fleskhjerta – if you were one of these users, pat yourself on the back for solving this. Salute!

It is now on sale for 400 GOODBUX for a limited time only – the most expensive of all the boxes. If you bought it, you most likely got your money’s worth. But if you aren’t satisfied, then too bad. Delete it. We don’t care. But as of now, there’s only 58 in existance.

More boxes are coming along the horizon, and there’s still time left. Keep your thinking caps on and you’ll have more of them in no time.

Olympic Building Contest

We’re having a building contest! How exciting.

The theme for this contest is based around the 2020 Olympic Games which is modeled off where it was originally going to be hosted – in Tokyo, Japan. We want you to build a GOODBLOX place to host one of the games, and this is a great opportunity because the pandemic postponed/cancelled the Olympics in the real world, and we think a virtual contest could be fun! Once everything you want is in place there will be plenty of locations for people to play Olympics games of your own.

How to Enter

1. Make a new place with the title “Olympics2020_________” with whatever you want to call the place on the blank line.
Examples: Olympics2020 Suzuki Tanaka|Olympics2020 I’m gonna win place|Olympics2020 Long jumping range.
1a. You can use ‘2008’ instead of ‘2020’ for nostalgic reasons if you prefer. Example: Olympics2008 nostalgic place 2.

2. Your place must be on your main account and still there at the time the contest ends September 20th, 2020 at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time. The prizes will only go to your main account.

3. The place must be related to the Olympic Games. It must be about one of the Olympic sports, or about one of the locations for the Tokyo 2020 games.

4. If GOODBLOX is down, you may use ROBLOX to upload your place file. Prize earning still applies there – but prizes will be awarded on GOODBLOX when the web site is on-line.

IMPORTANT: On the Official Tokyo Olympics site, there’s a list of the sports, and a list of the locations the games are being held. Go check out the games and locations to get ideas for what you’d like your entry to be. Also it might be fun to include the Official Mascots of the games into your place somehow.

Video Contest Mini-Event

In addition to the building contest, we’re having a small video contest. To enter, post your video to YouTube or Vidlii with the following tags: GOODBLOX Olympics Tokyo. Remember to put your username and a link to the GOODBLOX website. The video can be any length but must be about GOODBLOX, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and must comply with the GOODBLOX Community Guidelines.(edited)

How to Win

Prize winners will be chosen in the following ways: At midnight (Pacific Time) after the end of the contest, we will run a database search to find the Visits count and Favorites count for entries. Our searches will know how many visits and favorites came after the start of the contest. We realize that one person may win more than one category. That is allowed. To prevent popularity loading we will not announce the winners of any prize until the end-date.

*The Mystery requirement will not be revealed until the end of the contest. Don’t ask! We may possibly give out more prizes than this, for different requirements. We reserve the right to add ways to win to the contest.

We hope to see many of our users building cool places to earn these fabulous prizes. The person with the most visits and favorites will also get special rewards too, so get going! Time is money…and items, I guess?

GOODBLOX Grows Again!

Introducing PizzaBoxer – the newest member of the GOODBLOX Team! He has joined the ranks of our Development team as a full-time programmer. His specialty is PHP and C#. We’re all excited to have him aboard and can’t wait to see what magic tricks he can work with the software.

PizzaBoxer is unfortunately the victim of spontaneous arm-loss onsite and torso-loss ingame. He says he’d appreciate some friend requests and some support to help him gain his limbs back. In his words, he also says you should “remember to pay your taxes or you’ll end up armless like me >:(“.

He will be helping the Moderation team off and on and is already super busy with projects. You can PM him to say “Hi” or give suggestions for his place. Please don’t ask PizzaBoxer for stuff or ask scripting questions. We can’t have him getting distracted!

Hooray for PizzaBoxer!

Black Iron Gift of Pwnage

The masked malefactor has struck again! Late last night, he sent the web site into maintenance and distributed the gift to thousands of GOODBLOXian homes. We reported his motives a couple of days ago.

Users found that they got this mysterious (and shiny) blue box if they didn’t have a 1-day ban or more on their account record. He left a sale tag for the staff team as well, which appears to expire in 48 hours from now.

Now we have a cryptic news wire from the GOODBLOX Police commissioner Carl Burgundy:

Police Report                                          ID: 5f3759df

We’re having trouble getting to the Root of this problem. The thing is, it doesn’t square with everything we know about GOODBLOXians. See, most of them don’t break into places and leave gifts. This guy is doing the inverse. And he’s doing it fast.

The commissioner also pointed out that all the houses burglarized this time belonged to known advanced-level bloxxers and up. Whoever broke into their houses must be either supremely confident or insane. In any case, they’re dangerous and citizens should not attempt to apprehend them themselves.
